Spells and the Law

Phenomenal Cosmic Power.. Itty Bitty Legal Space

The Mage’s Guild self-polices very strictly because it exists at the whim of the Emperor. Magic is incredibly useful to the NAE, but if the unquestioned ruler of the land, the representative of the Gods on Earth says your spell is no-go, that’s the way it is.

Divine spells are regulated by the Temple, which is careful to make sure that its Priestesses do not use their powers to blasphemous ends or wantonly display unlimited power over death.
